I was hardly sore today! I know that yesterday’s workout is supposed to really hit tomorrow, but I still think it is progress. My sun salutations were a bit smoother than on Friday, but I can still feel some pain in my knees when I step back into a lunge. It loosens up as I cycle through the flows. I just have to remember that and not get discouraged. You can follow my salutation flow from the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNt9qP0_hYI. The poses I do on Tues, Thurs, and Sat are from 6:50-21:25. I got this as a VHS when I first started working for Whole Foods, so around ’97? And then when the DVD was briefly available, I got one. I’ve done the first twenty minutes so many times that I don’t need the video, and instead, just hear Schiffman’s voice in my head (“make it round… taking up lots of space… head up as you inhale”). I think that next week, I’ll try a different flow. I like being able to use my phone or tablet, so it will probably be one of Adriene’s videos. Maybe this one: https://youtu.be/K-Ina_WW4Yc or this one: https://youtu.be/Ido0fK6uBi8

I also sent a draft of my essay to the editor and I sent an email to a colleague asking about the possibility of teaching for her program next year, as I need other options for (summer! and) next fall.

On today’s walk I saw a red-breasted sapsucker, which might be a new bird for me, unless I saw one as a kid, which I doubt. We are also currently listening to three different great-horned owls singing out in the dark of the backyard. Yesterday, there was a sharp-shinned hawk jumping around under an old snag where we feed the birds, but he came away empty-handed. So, overall pretty good bird week, and it’s only Tuesday.
