One thing I didn’t do this month, which I had sort of hoped I would, is read more about movement and exercise and our dominant ideas about it. I read a little of How to Think About Exercise by Damon Young, but I didn’t read as much of it as I wanted, and I didn’t really read anything else.
I’m going to try to spend the next week doing that.
Today, while doing one of Adriene’s rise workouts, I had a brief moment where I actually managed to hover in a yoga pushup. It was brief, but in that moment, I felt stronger than I did when I started. So that’s better than a punch in the eye. My impatience gets the better of me in most things, but I thought I had learned (over and over again) that small changes, repeated over time, yield amazing results. This is how I (twice) dug myself out of debt, paid off my student loans, how I originally lost 50lbs and how I finished 6 triathlons and 3 half marathons, it’s how I saved up enough money to buy this house.
It was still snowing here today. My hope is to get a snowshoe hike in this weekend.
